Nonlinear analysis of L-shaped pipe conveying fluid with the aid of absolute nodal coordinate formulation

By adopting the absolute nodal coordinate formulation, a novel and general nonlinear theoretical model, which can be applied to solve dynamics of combined straight-curved fluid-conveying pipes with arbitrary initially configurations any boundary conditions, is developed in current study. Based on this established behaviors cantilevered L-shaped pipe conveying fluid without base excitations are systematically investigated. Before starting research, model verified by performing three validation examples. Then, aid static deformations, linear stability self-excited vibrations excitation determined. It found that suffers from deformations when flow velocity subcritical, will undergo limit-cycle motions as exceeds critical value. Subsequently, forced explored. indicated period-n, quasi-periodic chaotic responses detected for pipe, has strong relationship velocity, amplitude frequency.
